Year Swipe

Year Swipe is a music trivia game designed for fans of classic songs. Each puzzle begins with a reference year. You will listen to a song and see its album or single cover art.

How to play Year Swipe

Your task is to determine whether the song was released before or after the displayed reference year. Make your choice by swiping left or right. Each puzzle consists of five songs in total.

Each round with a different song. Identify the year of release from the melody, vocals, artist name or cover art. The first year is a reference point; determine if the song is before or after that year.

After listening to the song, you have two choices. Swipe left if you think the song was released before the reference year, or swipe right if you believe it came out after that year. You can also use the on-screen left and right buttons, though the drag-and-drop (swipe) method offers a more intuitive experience.

Complete 5 rounds daily

One puzzle per day

Year Swipe offers a new puzzle every day, consisting of five songs. The tracks usually come from past musical eras, so players need to draw on their knowledge of artists and music history to make informed choices.

Puzzles may feature familiar names such as The Beatles, David Bowie, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, or The Jackson 5, with songs frequently drawn from the 1960s and 1970s.

Check your score

After five rounds, the game displays your results. The maximum score is 5/5. The results screen displays each song, artist, release year, and your answer. Once finished, you can copy your score and share the results with friends.

Year Swipe offers a fresh challenge for music lovers around the world. After this challenge, if you would like to switch to a band management game, you can try Music Band.
