Oodle
Ooodle is a math game inspired by Wordle, but instead of guessing letters, you have to guess a valid mathematical equation. It sounds academic, but in reality, playing it is quite similar to lighthearted logic games: trial and error, reading hints, and making adjustments.
How to play Oodle
- Every day, the game provides a fixed result. Your task is to arrange the provided numbers so that when the correct order of operations is applied (multiplication and division before addition and subtraction), the equation yields the correct result. Each number can only be used once, so there's no chance of simply repeating numbers to increase your chances of winning.
- Ooodle maintains the spirit of guessing within limits, similar to Wordle. You have a maximum of six attempts. After each number sequence entry, the game changes the color of the tiles to let you know if you're on the right track.
- If a tile turns green, it means the number is both correct and in the correct position. Yellow indicates that the number is present in the answer, but you've placed it in the wrong spot. Gray means the number is completely wrong and not part of that day's equation.
Features
The interesting thing about Ooodle is that you not only guess numbers but also have to pay attention to whether the structure of the equation is correct. Sometimes all the numbers are correct, but simply changing the position of one number completely changes the result. As you get used to playing, you'll gradually shift from random guessing to reverse reasoning: keeping what you're sure of, then trying to replace the remaining numbers until the equation matches the final result.
Ooodle isn't too theoretically heavy, but it forces players to slow down a bit and think logically instead of reacting instinctively. If you liked Wordle but want a more challenging version with a clear mathematical element, Ooodle is the kind of game that will easily keep you playing every day without getting bored.
