Humhigh
HumHigh is a melody-based song-guessing game. However, instead of listening to a vocalist, the game features a unique mechanic: one person hums a melody (using "hmm, hmm, hmm"), and another must listen and guess the song.
You can also hum yourself to have an AI score your performance, or switch to other modes if you prefer a more traditional music quiz style.
How to play HumHigh
Depending on the mode, HumHigh changes how questions are presented and answered. In humming modes, the melody is the key element, not the lyrics.
Listen to the hum and guess the song
In RALLY, one player selects a song and hums a segment of its melody. That recording becomes the question for another player.
The recipient listens to the hum and selects the correct song from four options. Guessing correctly faster earns more points, and consecutive correct answers can build a streak.
Simply put: one person hums, and the other plays musical detective.
Humming to test your skills
PITCH is designed for solo play. The game asks you to hum a song, and an AI evaluates your accuracy on a scale of 0 to 100.
This isn't about asking "what song is this?" anymore. You already know the song; the challenge is seeing if you can reproduce the melody accurately.
HumHigh game modes
HumHigh isn't just about humming. Each mode focuses on a different aspect of listening to music and turns it into a mini-quiz.
RALLY and PITCH
RALLY is a mode focused on multiplayer interaction. One person creates a hummed clip, and the other listens and guesses the song.
PITCH works the other way around. You hum a song yourself, and the AI evaluates your accuracy.
These two modes best illustrate HumHigh's unique concept: the player's voice itself is part of the puzzle.
SNAP and REWIND
SNAP returns to a familiar quiz format: listen to a song and try to identify it as quickly as possible.
REWIND shifts the focus to time. Instead of just guessing the song title, you have to identify which decade the song is from.
BLUR
BLUR doesn't rely on listening; instead, it presents a pixelated album cover. The image gradually clears up, and your task is to recognize the album before too many details are revealed.
PARTY
When played in a group, PARTY turns HumHigh into a mini music competition. One person hums while the others guess. The game supports multiple players in the same room, so the real fun lies in seeing who can recognize the melody first.
A quiz game with various ways to guess music
What sets HumHigh apart from a standard music quiz is that you don't just answer questions posed by the game. In the humming modes, you create the questions for others using your own voice.
A spot-on "hmm-hmm-hmm" melody might let others recognize the song instantly. Or, it might sound like a completely different track. That’s exactly where the fun of HumHigh kicks in. After the music-guessing challenge, you can switch to a music-creation game like Sprunki Corruptbox - though the music here tends to have a somewhat darker vibe.
