Geo Riddle

Geo Riddle put your knowledge of countries to the test with an ingenious combination of geography, logic, and strategy. On the game, you won't simply point out countries on a map - here you'll identify a pair of countries satisfying two simultaneous conditions. With each response having to meet multiple requirements, as if simply asking you to find an answer wasn't challenging enough, this deceptively basic geography quiz becomes a serious challenge requiring you to think really hard about your answers based on everything you know about the planet.

In the first level of difficulty, a 3x3 matrix with nine vacant cells will appear. Each cell is an intersection of a row description and a column description. For each junction, you must name a country that fits both descriptions. For example, "In Europe" and "Island Country" can lead you to Iceland or Malta. But be careful, as your choice of country will effect your final score.

Many Options, Few Guesses

With 12 guesses to fill all nine cells, you have some wiggle room, but you may get yourself into a mess quickly if you're not careful and start burning through your guesses. You can only use each nation once for each puzzle, so you cannot just spam an apparent answer at many crossings. Once you fill in your first, you'll need to come up with other countries.

This is the difference between Geo Riddle and a regular multiple-choice geography quiz. While cities can fit into multiple categories, playing a country requires some strategy. Other times you reserve a response for a tougher crossroads.

Scoring and Rules of Geo Riddles

Not every cell needs to be filled in. Geo Riddle additionally incentivizes players to choose surprising countries rather than the most obvious option. Answers are worth 5 to 100 points each cell, depending on how rare the answer is in terms of nations available for that combination (the rarer the answer among the available countries, the more points the answer is worth). The options are sorted by population.

Don't Choose The Most Popular Countries

Smaller or less famous countries are worth more points, while larger and more famous countries are worth fewer points. Scores range from 5-29 for common countries; 30-79 for mid-range countries; and 80-100 for rare countries. An empty box scores 0 points.

For example, Iceland is an easy solution for a European island nation, but Malta may net more money. You want to find actual countries that other players might not.

All nine cells add up toward your total score, so stuffing up the board with smart replies is better than stuffing it up with well-known names.

Geo Riddle's the perfect game to challenge what you know about geography, exposure you to nations you may not have known, and get your strategic thinking muscling really working.
