Sky Dart

Sky Dart is a game that looks deceptively simple, but once you start playing, you’ll realize just how much it genuinely puts your talents to the test. You have one goal, and that is to shoot your arrow as far as you can. That may sound simple enough, but tremendous distance is not simply about shooting with brute force. You have to carefully judge your angle, fine-tune your power and actively steer the arrow while it is in midflight.

The first vibe is really soothing – like a simple pick-up-and-play arcade game. However, the more you play, the more you understand that each shot is an opportunity to refine your control technique; even the slightest divergence in your input can lead to a significantly different ultimate distance.

How To Play Sky Dart

Sky Dart doesn’t have complex gameplay mechanics, but it compensates for this lack with an addicting cycle: shoot the arrow, move it through the air, avoid obstacles, and beat your distance record.

You’re not a passive observer watching the arrow fly. While it’s on the move, you can actively change its path to avoid trees, buildings, boulders, and, in general, a dense collection of obstacles spread over the landscape.

Shooting and Air Control

You’ll drag and let go to determine your initial power and angle of fire, but the most important aspect of gameplay comes after the arrow has flown.

When you fly, you can swerve left and right to make your flight route curved . In other words , you are negotiating a chaotic obstacle course in the sky . Sometimes, it’s just a split-second delay in your reflexes that cause you to run into something and destroy what could have been a beautiful shot.

Collect Coins and Score Points

The further you go, the more coins you get. But if you hit any of the target boards dotted throughout the road, your rewards will be tripled, often forcing you into a strategic option between playing it safe and risking some additional points.

Enhancing Your Abilities

As you go through the game, you’ll soon find that improvements are vitally essential – something that you can’t afford to ignore. Your shot power, flight range and much more directly influence your ability to accomplish those ever-distant goals. The sense of progression also seems real and satisfying; the better you are at upgrading your gear, the more additional distances and tasks the game unlocks for you to tackle.

What Makes Sky Dart Fun?

  • Sky Dart might not be a game with a deep storyline or intricate plot elements, but it’s addictive because of the wonderful sensation of incremental development it provides.
  • After each shot, it leaves you with the unmistakable impression you could have done just a little bit better. A tiny change in your power, or a more accurate correction in your trajectory, can provide an entirely different effect.
  • It's one of those games where the longer you play the more you feel yourself mastering it, rather than feeling like the difficulty curve is too quick to ramp up.

Sky Dart is a playful arcade title that is everything but vanilla. It’s easy enough for a fast, casual distraction but deep enough that you’ll want to replay it – if only to see if you can get a little farther this time.

If you like light, reflex-based games that are easy to learn but hard to master, this title makes for a decent choice to play every now and then for a change of pace. But if you want to mix things up a bit and have a real "Spelunky-esque" feeling going, we recommend trying out Sprunki Talking Gray and Wenda.
