Incredibox Instrumentalist
Instrumentalist is an Incredibox mod developed by Overcook Lemonade—one of the most prominent names in the modding community. He has almost never made a bad mod, and this mod continues to show his unique creativity.
Instead of focusing on familiar vocals or electronic melodies, Instrumentalist focuses entirely on instruments. Listening to it, you will feel a combination of percussion, woodwinds, metal percussion, and even some strange clicky-clacky sounds.
Sounds in Incredibox Instrumentalist
From the beginning, the mod feels energetic, sometimes a bit jarring when placing beats one after another. Most of the sounds are percussion-oriented, while lacking bass or strings—elements that usually add depth to the mix.
The random arrangement brings a fun feeling, sometimes accidentally creating Animal Crossing-style background music or even something reminiscent of San Andreas instrumentals. But overall, the lack of variety in the instrumentation makes the track easy to get repetitive.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths:
- The concept is extremely creative, focusing entirely on the instruments.
- There are intriguing surprises, such as the faint background vocals, which add a sense of mystery.
- Accordion and piano are pleasing touches.
Weaknesses:
- The lack of bass and strings takes away from the overall depth.
- Many of the sounds sound quite similar, mostly revolving around percussion and woodwinds.
- It can be a bit difficult to mix together into a catchy track at times.
Instrumentalist is not a bad mod. On the contrary, it is worth a try, especially for those who love percussion and want to explore a different direction in Incredibox. However, to be a fantastic mod, it needs more variety—a little bass, some strings, or more wind instruments. If you like music puzzle games then go for Heardle.
