Gridle
Gridle is a logic puzzle game developed based on the idea of Wordle but more complex by applying the polyominoes mechanism. Players will guess how to arrange square pieces (from monomino to tetromino) to fill a 4x4 grid. Gridle combines geometric thinking, logic and strategic ability, providing an experience that is both challenging and entertaining.
How to play Gridle
Objective
The goal of the game is to guess how to fill a 4x4 grid with polyominoes in a maximum of 6 attempts. Each guess must form a complete and valid arrangement.
How to guess
- Players can use polyominoes from 1 square (monomino) to 4 squares (tetrominoes).
- Multiple polyominoes of the same shape can be used in one guess.
- After each guess, the game will provide colour feedback to indicate accuracy:
Colour Feedback
- Green: The Polyomino is the correct shape, size, and position.
- Yellow/Orange:
- Polyomino shape is in the answer and has the correct orientation but the incorrect position.
- Polyomino shape is in the answer, but the rotation/flip is incorrect.
- Grey/Red: The Polyomino is not in the answer.
Important Rules
- Orientation: For symmetrical polyominos, two orientations can be considered the same if they look the same even when rotated or flipped.
- Counting: If you guess multiple polyominoes of the same shape, only polyominoes with the correct number in the answer will be counted.
- Monomino: The answer can contain a maximum of one monomino, but you can use any number in your guess.
Griddle Tips
- Start with large pieces to easily cover the grid and determine the position.
- Pay attention to the colour feedback to quickly remove the wrong pieces or rotate/flip them to the right direction.
- Strategically arrange polyominoes according to shape and orientation; avoid random guessing.
Griddle is a challenging logic puzzle game that combines geometric thinking and puzzle strategy. Players not only have to think about the shape and orientation of the pieces but also need to plan to guess correctly to fill the 4x4 grid in a limited number of turns. This is an ideal choice for those who love intellectual puzzle games and endless thinking challenges. In addition, if you love word-guessing games, Jermle is also an interesting choice with 5-letter word-guessing challenges based on the Jerma theme and dramatic speed-play mode.
