Futboldle

Futboldle is a football player guessing game similar to Wordle, but instead of guessing words, you're scrutinizing the profile of a mysterious name. The game throws you into a data sheet containing team, nationality, position, preferred foot, and age and then tells you: guess, it's okay to be wrong as long as you can read the hints.

From the first screen, everything is obvious: a box to enter the player's or team's name, below which are 8 more guesses. The game reveals its true nature as soon as you enter the first name, with no fancy colors or effects.

How to play Futboldle

Start with a familiar name

Enter any player, for example, Chris Wood. It doesn't have to be correct, just enough information to unlock the hint.

Read the colors and arrows

After each guess, the table will show the result:

  • Green: completely correct
  • Yellow: incorrect but related (same league, same system)
  • Gray: entirely wrong

There are also up and down arrows, often used for age or numerical indicators. For example, a down arrow at age 30 means the player you are looking for is younger.

Narrowing down the range

From one guess, you can know this player is a striker, right-footed, not New Zealand, and younger than 30. Each piece is small, but when put together, the picture gradually becomes clearer.

Tips for Futboldle

  • Don't guess randomly; guess strategically: Instead of spamming random names, choose players with different profiles to test the data. For example, change nationality or change position to eliminate possibilities faster.
  • Prioritize position first: If a green light appears for a position (e.g., striker), stick with that. This information helps you eliminate a large number of players immediately.
  • Remember the league logic: The color yellow on a team is usually associated with the same league, so if you're playing the Premier League version, think within that context first.

Fútboldle isn't a lighthearted, relaxing game; it's more of a memory test for football fans. The more you watch and remember, the more fun it is to play. And if you want to switch to a more relaxed musical experience where you just tap to create melodies, you can try Piano Music Box.
