How to play Forester
At the start, you will type a 5-letter English word to try to guess. After each guess, the game will provide clues via the colours on the keyboard:
Green letters: the letter appears in the grid.
Grey letters: the letter does not exist in the grid.
These letters will help you deduce the location of the hidden word. The challenge lies in the fact that the word to be found can appear in many different directions on the 5x5 grid. It can be in a horizontal row, a vertical column, or a diagonal. Additionally, the word can be read forwards or backwards, creating a total of 24 possible positions. Therefore, you need to carefully observe the revealed letters to determine the correct orientation of the word. Players have a limited number of guesses. Each valid word entry will reveal more information on the grid. When you enter the correct mystery word, the game ends and you win.
Hint System
If you feel stuck, Forester provides smart hints to help you get closer to the answer. For example, if the word to be found is ENJOY, the system might suggest words like:
EDITORIAL – words starting with the letter 'E' and containing the letter 'O'.
ADJOURNED – words containing the letters JO next to each other.
These hints help players recognise the connections between letters, thus deducing the answer faster.
Additionally, the KEY button can be used when you want to directly reveal the mystery word. This is a useful option if you want to move on to another puzzle without getting stuck for too long.
