Drow Wordle
Drow Wordle is a unique take on the word-guessing genre, just like the original Wordle. But you can't just look at the letters or use normal tips; you have to listen to a reversed audio sample to get the right word.
It may look easy, but it really makes your brain work in a way that is different from other things. You don't hear the word you need to guess; you hear it backwards. It is precisely this sensation—at once familiar yet distorted—that sets Drow Wordle apart from typical word-guessing games.
How to Play Drow Wordle
Listen to the Audio Hint
Each day, the game presents a new challenge. You press "Play" to listen to an audio clip—which is, in reality, the solution word played backward. For example, if the answer is "WORD," you will hear the sounds of that word in reverse order.
A small detail, but an important one: if you are playing on a mobile phone, you should disable vibration mode to avoid any distractions while listening to the audio hint.
Guess the Word in 6 Attempts
You have a maximum of six attempts to guess the correct word. The solution can range from 4 to 13 characters in length, meaning the difficulty level varies significantly from day to day.
After each guess, the game provides feedback using color-coded tiles. You can use this feedback to gradually narrow down the answer—much like in standard Wordle—but with the added layer of the initially "scrambled" audio clue.
Simple Rules, Yet Mind-Bending Gameplay
What makes Drow Wordle so intriguing is that it forces your brain to perform a double-reversal: listening to a reversed sound → mentally reversing it back to normal → and then guessing the word. There are often moments where you feel certain you know the word, yet you can't be 100% sure.
Drow Wordle Features
The game features a daily reset mechanism (at midnight GMT), meaning only one new puzzle becomes available each day. This makes it feel more like a daily ritual or habit than a game you can binge-play endlessly.
Additionally, since the word length is not fixed, the difficulty level fluctuates unpredictably—some days are easy, while others are quite challenging. Some days you might solve it in just a few minutes, while others you’ll have to sit and replay the audio several times just to ensure you haven't misheard anything.
Drow Wordle isn't the sort of puzzle game that is loud or intensely addictive. It’s a bit slow, a bit peculiar, and requires a touch of patience to get used to the process of listening backward in order to guess forward. Yet, it is precisely this quirkiness that gives the game its unique character. Next wordle game: Bookdle.
