Diffle
Diffle is a unique variation of Wordle. Here, you can enter words of any length, and that's what makes things so much more… mind-boggling.
How to play Diffle
You start with any word. The game doesn't tell you right or wrong in a straightforward way but returns rather tricky clues. For example, you know the T is at the end, the N is somewhere nearby, but the space in between makes you guess endlessly.
When each clue becomes a mini-puzzle
No longer just right or wrong
Unlike traditional Wordle, the hint system here is more detailed but also more confusing. Gray still indicates a non-existent word. But when the word appears in the correct order, or in a consecutive sequence, the game will reveal a clue in its own way.
Occasionally you guess an entire cluster of consecutive characters correctly, like MPL being close together in the target word. It may seem simple, but when you consider the context, it remains a challenge.
The feeling of staring at the screen and getting stuck
There are times when you're on the verge of finding the answer, but you get stuck at that point. Despite knowing there's logic in the clues, your brain struggles to connect the pieces.
Simple rules, difficult thinking
The rules are extremely easy to understand: enter a valid word, press Enter, read the clue, repeat. The longer you play, the more you see that this game tests your reasoning skills as well as your vocabulary. It doesn't force you to be fast. But if you want to solve it with the fewest guesses, each word you enter must have a reason. And that's when Diffle ceases to be just a Wordle clone and becomes a logic puzzle disguised as a word game. After Diffle, you can explore a new challenge in Sprunki Retrirement.
