How to play Crosstune

Main interface

• The crossword grid has words in the Across (horizontal) and Down (vertical) directions.
• We code the clues as follows: [Number][A/D]—For example, 2A is a horizontal word starting in cell number 2, and 1D is a vertical word starting in cell number 1.
• Each row corresponds to a type of music-related information:
  • Artist name
  • Song name
  • Band name
  • Lead singer's name
  • What the song is about

Music playback function

• Below the crossword board is a music control bar (play/pause), suggesting that each keyword can be associated with a piece of music (like Heardle).
• When you press play, the game will play a snippet from the related song for the player to guess.

Color classification of clues

Each type of clue has a separate color:

• Yellow is the song title (1D).
• Pink = Artist/song titles (2A, 3D, 5A)
• Green = Band name (4A).
• Blue is the lead singer’s name (7A).
